Consecration of the Hunt

Universal Rite

Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M (a sanctified sigil drawn in the gravehunter’s blood)
Duration: 24 hours

You sanctify a melee weapon or up to 10 pieces of ammunition, marking it with a sigil in your own blood. Until the rite ends, the weapon is considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks.

Once during this duration, when the consecrated weapon or ammunition hits an undead creature, you may unleash the stored sanctified energy. The undead must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your ritual save DC or suffer disadvantage on its next attack roll. After this effect is triggered, it cannot be used again unless it is reawakened.

If the consecrated item is a melee weapon, you may reignite the weakening effect as a bonus action, provided you deliberately take 1d4 slashing damage by cutting yourself (no action required). You must have at least 1 hit point remaining. You may only do this once per turn, and only if the rite is still active.

Consecrated ammunition cannot have its weakening effect reawakened.

Only one weapon or batch of ammunition may benefit from this rite at a time.
