“You want to know what makes me different? It ain’t the rage. Everyone’s got rage. Some men scream it, some drink it, some bury it. Me? I wear it like iron.
Every scar on me—earned. Every bone I broke—healed wrong and harder. Pain taught me more than any chieftain ever did. Pain’s honest. When the blade bites deep, it doesn’t lie to you. And I don’t lie back—I answer it.
You think I fight ‘cause I’m angry? No. I fight because I remember the day I didn’t get back up. And I swore to the blood in my mouth and the gods who turned away—I’d never fall like that again.
So go ahead. Cut deep. Break me. Bleed me. You’ll see why they call us Bloodforged.”
—Durgan One-Scar, Warden of the Ninth Iron Oath
The Bloodforged do not chase glory. They do not boast, boastfulness being the mark of those who haven’t bled enough to learn fear. Instead, they trust the forge of pain and the steel it makes of the soul. They are warriors who have died on the battlefield and risen—not by magic or miracle, but by sheer refusal to fall.
Each drop of blood spilled is an offering. Every broken bone is a vow. And through this agony, they are transformed—not into something inhuman, but into the most unshakable form of humanity there is: a survivor who cannot be kept down.
Bloodforged Endurance
3rd-Level Bloodforged Feature
Your pain becomes your armor, and your strength sharpens when your blood is spilled.
- Iron Will. While raging, each time you take damage from a creature, your AC increases by 1 until the start of your next turn, stacking up to a maximum of +3.
- Suffering Strength. While below half your hit point maximum, your melee weapon attacks deal bonus necrotic damage equal to your Rage Damage bonus.
Tempered Vitality
3rd-Level Bloodforged Feature
You are hardened by hardship, and your endurance outpaces death.
- You gain proficiency in Constitution saving throws if you don’t already have it.
- When you succeed on a Constitution saving throw, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Barbarian level. You can benefit from this effect once per turn.
Ironbound Endurance
6th-Level Bloodforged Feature
Your refusal to fall borders on the supernatural.
When you are reduced to 0 hit points while raging, you may instead drop to 1 hit point and continue fighting for 1 minute. While this feature is active:
- You cannot regain hit points by any means other than healing potions or spells, and even then, only to 1 HP.
- You are immune to being knocked unconscious.
- When this effect ends—or if your rage ends—you immediately drop to 0 hit points and fall unconscious.
You can use this feature once per long rest.
Searing Defiance
10th-Level Bloodforged Feature
Your pain lashes out, and your will sharpens under pressure.
- When you take damage while raging, you can use your reaction to gain advantage on your next attack roll or saving throw before the end of your next turn.
- If the damage taken reduces you to 25% or less of your maximum hit points, your weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 until the end of your next turn.
Forgeheart Ascendant
14th-Level Bloodforged Feature
Even on the edge of death, you burn brighter than steel drawn from flame.
Once per turn when you take damage, you may unleash a pulse of pain-forged power. Creatures of your choice within 10 feet must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier), taking 2d6 + your Barbarian level necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
While raging and below half your hit point maximum, you gain resistance to all damage types except force and psychic.
