Species & Lineages

In Khassid, ancestry is more than blood — it is memory, myth, and meaning.

Each species in this world bears a legacy shaped by divine interference, magical trauma, exile, or ancient endurance. Some were born of Khassid itself. Others arrived through celestial bargain or cosmic necessity. Together, they form the peoples of a world still healing — still dreaming.

Khassid does not divide its peoples by arbitrary categories of race. Instead, species reflect origin and identity, while lineages carry the memory of environments, beliefs, and divine resonance that have shaped them over generations.

Below are the core playable species of Khassid. Each includes one or more distinct lineages and a rich cultural history grounded in this setting.

Barazûn (bah-rah-ZOON)

Dwarven refugees from a dying crystal sphere, the Barazûn are enduring builders, faith-bearers, and keepers of divine memory. They forged new gods from gratitude and labor.

Dragonborn (DRAG-un-born)

Rare but native to Khassid, Dragonborn descend from the dwindling line of true dragons. Their presence marks elemental legacy and ancestral power.

Felden (FEL-den)

Quiet folk of discipline and subtle strength. The Felden value silence, readiness, and community over spectacle — and wield their Doctrine of Quiet Resolve like a blade.

Humans (HYOO-muhns)

Ambitious, varied, and deeply responsive to faith, humans are survivors and reshapers of Khassid’s broken ages. Their spiritual imprint defines entire pantheons.

Karnathi (kar-NAH-thee)

Crafted by the world itself, the Karnathi are sea-bound builders, fault-menders, and structure-keepers. They embody Khassid’s instinct to endure and adapt.

Syl’Aeris (sihl-AH-ree)

Known to outsiders as “elves” — a term they reject — the Syl’Aeris are stewards of harmony and memory, bonded to Aelindor’s spiritual echo and the Ithil gates.

Tieflings (TEE-flings)

Not born of Khassid, Tieflings are consequences made flesh — planar breaches, magical scars, and arcane fallout given form. Their existence is a warning and a legacy.

Varnokh (VAR-nokh)

A unified people of orcs and goblin-kin, the Varnokh were granted Gharnakthul by divine pact. Their society is defined by strength, memory, and sacred fire. The final kh is spoken with a firm, slightly guttural release — a mark of honor in their speech.

Cultural Note

The peoples of Khassid reject simplification. Referring to the Syl’Aeris as “elves” or the Varnokh as “orcs” flattens rich, living cultures into caricature. Players are encouraged to speak as their characters would — to be Felden, not halflings; Barazûn, not dwarves. Every name is a history. Every lineage is a story still unfolding.
