0. Definitions

For the purposes of this license:

“Godsforge Chronicles Content” refers to all original intellectual property, including but not limited to settings, worlds, lore, characters, gods, factions, cosmology, metaphysical structures, divine systems, subclasses, species, mechanics, systems, narrative elements, artwork, maps, audio, video, and written expressions published under the Godsforge Chronicles brand.

“Khassid Content” refers specifically to all Godsforge Chronicles Content associated with the world, setting, history, cosmology, and narrative of Khassid.

“Commercial Use” refers to any activity that directly or indirectly generates revenue, compensation, or financial benefit of any kind.

“Public Distribution” refers to any sharing of content beyond a private gaming group, including websites, social media, livestreams, video platforms, file-sharing services, digital storefronts, or marketplaces.

“Derivative Works” refers to any work based upon, adapted from, transformed from, or substantially inspired by Godsforge Chronicles Content or Khassid Content, whether in whole or in part.

1. Purpose of the License

The Khassid Open RPG License (hereafter KORL) is a limited-use license that governs how players, Dungeon Masters, and community members may use original content published for the Godsforge Chronicles and the world of Khassid. This license is intended to support narrative-driven play, community creativity, and private enjoyment, while protecting the integrity and ownership of Khassid’s unique setting, lore, and systems.

KORL exists in harmony with the System Reference Document 5.1 and 5.2.1, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license applies solely to original content not covered by the SRD, including lore, gods, factions, subclasses, spells, species, mechanics, metaphysics, and other creations exclusive to the Godsforge Chronicles setting.

2. What You May Do Under This License

You are granted permission to:

Play: Use Khassid content at your private game table, in campaigns, livestreams, home games, or play-by-post forums.
Stream: Run Khassid campaigns on Twitch, YouTube, or podcasts with proper attribution (see Section 5).
Create Characters: Use original Khassid species, subclasses, or lore elements to build PCs and NPCs for personal or streamed use.
Write Adventures: Homebrew content for personal play that builds on Khassid’s setting and rules.
Share Non-Commercially: Share handouts, maps, or stat blocks with your own group, provided they are not monetized or publicly distributed.

2.5 Streaming & Monetization Clarification

You may stream or broadcast Khassid-based gameplay on platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, Kick, podcasts, or similar services provided that:

No Khassid intellectual property is sold, licensed, or paywalled as a product.
Monetization through ads, platform subscriptions, or voluntary viewer donations is permitted only when the Khassid content itself is not locked behind payment.
You may NOT sell:
- Access to Khassid-exclusive campaigns
- Khassid-based adventure modules
- Khassid-derived setting books, lore archives, or rule expansions

Godsforge Chronicles Studios reserves the right to revoke streaming permissions for misuse, misrepresentation, or commercial exploitation.

3. What You May Not Do Under This License

You are not permitted to:

Redistribute or republish any part of this work in print or digital form (PDF, website, etc.) without explicit written permission from Godsforge Chronicles Studios.
Sell any content derived from this work, including supplements, modules, conversions, or compendiums.
Claim ownership of Khassid’s gods, factions, species, metaphysical framework, divine systems, cosmology, subclasses, or mechanics.
Use Khassid content for AI training, NFT minting, or blockchain-based projects under any circumstance.
Imply endorsement or official partnership with Godsforge Chronicles Studios unless granted in writing.
Create, distribute, or exploit derivative works of Khassid for commercial or public release, including novels, comics, animations, games, or digital experiences, without express written permission.
Any rights not expressly granted under this license are fully reserved by Godsforge Chronicles Studios, LLC.
Use Khassid Content in any manner that directly competes with, substitutes for, or diminishes the commercial viability of official Godsforge Chronicles products.

4. Relationship to the System Reference Document (SRD)

KORL exists alongside the SRD 5.1 and 5.2.1, which are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Content in the SRD (e.g., base rules, ability scores, class structure) is not owned by Godsforge Chronicles Studios and is not restricted by this license.

However, any original expressions, subclass names, character options, gods, spell effects, factions, lore, world events, or setting-specific rules appearing in the Khassid Resource Document (KRD) or other Godsforge Chronicles materials are governed by this license and may not be treated as open content.

5. Required Attribution

When using Khassid content in public play (e.g., livestreams, podcasts, shared character builds), you must include the following attribution somewhere visible or audible:

“This content is set in Khassid, a world from the Godsforge Chronicles, created by Darnell Coates and published by Godsforge Chronicles Studios under the Khassid Open RPG License.”

If used in text (e.g., adventure modules or handouts), this attribution must appear on the title page or credits section.

6. Termination of Rights

Violation of the terms of this license — including unauthorized reproduction, commercialization, misrepresentation, or reputational harm — results in immediate termination of all granted permissions without warning.

Upon termination:

All use, publication, streaming, and distribution of Khassid content must cease immediately.
Godsforge Chronicles Studios may pursue content takedowns through hosting platforms, distributors, and payment processors.
Continued use after termination constitutes willful copyright infringement.

Failure by Godsforge Chronicles Studios, LLC to immediately enforce any provision of this license does not constitute a waiver of future enforcement of that or any other provision.

Termination under this license is permanent unless explicitly reinstated in writing by Godsforge Chronicles Studios, LLC.

6.5 Morality & Brand Protection

Godsforge Chronicles Studios reserves the right to immediately revoke this license for any use of Khassid that:

Promotes hatred, harassment, or real-world violence
Exploits sexual violence, minors, or extreme abuse
Associates Khassid with extremist ideology or real-world political radicalization
Damages the reputation or standing of the Godsforge Chronicles brand

This license shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the United States and the State in which Godsforge Chronicles Studios, LLC is registered.

8. Version Control & Precedence

This license version (KORL v1.1) supersedes and replaces all previous versions of the Khassid Open RPG License. Continued use of Khassid content after publication of a revised license constitutes acceptance of the most current version.

Earlier versions remain valid only for uses that began under them and remain fully compliant with the current terms.

9. Severability

If any provision of this license is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

10. Entire Agreement

This document constitutes the entire agreement governing use of Khassid Content under this license and supersedes all prior verbal, written, or implied permissions.

11. Force Majeure

Godsforge Chronicles Studios, LLC shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under this license resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, labor disputes, government actions, power failures, internet outages, platform failures, pandemics, or natural disasters.
